Terms of Service

The terms that govern buying and using Ask Eijaz books and workbooks — licences, delivery, refunds, and what you can and can't do with the files.

These terms describe how this site and its products actually work. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable — but they are not legal advice, and they have not been reviewed by a lawyer in your jurisdiction. Last updated 22 August 2026.

1. Who you’re dealing with

This site is operated by Eijaz Sheikh, trading as Ask Eijaz, based in Mumbai, India. Reach us through the contact page.

Purchases are sold and processed by Dodo Payments, acting as Merchant of Record. That means Dodo is the seller on your receipt, collects payment, handles VAT/GST and sales tax where it applies, and issues your invoice. Their terms cover the payment transaction; these terms cover the product itself and what you may do with it.

2. Using the site

The blog, documentation and free downloads are provided for your own use. Don’t attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a scale that degrades it for others, or reproduce substantial parts of it elsewhere.

3. What a purchase gives you

Each paid product is a licence to use files — a PDF and an Excel workbook — not a transfer of ownership. Three licences exist:

  • Single licence — one named person.
  • Team licence — up to ten named people within one organisation.
  • Department licence — more than ten, or a whole function. Priced on headcount by agreement.

Under any of them you may:

  • Use every formula, pattern and technique in your own work, at your employer or for your clients, without restriction or attribution.
  • Adapt the workbook into your own files, and keep those files.
  • Keep your copy indefinitely, including all future corrections and revisions.

Under none of them may you:

  • Share, redistribute, resell, sublicense or upload the PDF or the workbook to any file-sharing, document-hosting or “study notes” service, or to anyone outside your licence.
  • Publish the text or figures, in whole or in part, in any medium.
  • Use the materials as content for a paid course, workshop or training programme without written permission.

If a colleague would find it useful, please point them at askeijaz.com rather than sending the file. Licence breaches are the one thing here we will act on.

4. Delivery

Files are delivered digitally and immediately on payment: download links appear at checkout and are emailed to you. There is no physical shipment.

By completing a purchase you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that, once downloading has begun, any statutory right of withdrawal for digital content no longer applies.

5. Refunds

Because the files are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, there is no general change-of-mind refund. A free sample of every book is published so you can evaluate the writing, the depth and the approach before paying.

We will fix or refund, in full, where:

  • the wrong file was delivered, or a download does not work;
  • you were charged twice, or charged in error;
  • the product does not work on a version of Excel it is stated to support;
  • the product is materially not as described.

Contact us and we will sort it out. Refunds are processed by Dodo Payments back to the original payment method.

6. Updates

Corrections and revised editions are provided free for the life of the product. We may change, improve or reissue a product at any time. We will not withdraw access to a version you have already bought.

7. Accuracy, and what these products are not

The books teach spreadsheet technique. They are not accounting, audit, tax, legal or financial advice, and buying one does not create a professional relationship of any kind.

Reconciliation and financial modelling are controls, and controls carry consequences. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your own work, for whether a technique suits your circumstances, and for meeting the standards your organisation and jurisdiction impose on you. See the Disclaimer.

8. Liability

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of a product is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from decisions made using the materials.

9. Third parties

The site uses Netlify (hosting and forms), Kit (newsletter), Dodo Payments (checkout), and — only with your consent — Google Analytics and Google AdSense. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Mumbai have jurisdiction — without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
