What Ask Eijaz collects, who it goes to, and how to get it removed — written to describe what this site actually does, service by service.

Last updated 22 August 2026. This describes what this site actually does, named service by named service. It is written to be read rather than to be exhaustive, and it is not legal advice.

The short version

Reading the site anonymously is the default. Nothing that identifies you is stored until you either consent to analytics, subscribe, or buy something. Card details never touch this site at all.

What is collected, and when

If you just read

Nothing identifying, unless you consent. Your browser stores a couple of preferences locally on your device — your theme/palette choice, and your cookie-consent decision. These are never sent anywhere.

Our host, Netlify, processes standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) to serve the site and defend against abuse. That is a technical necessity of putting anything on the internet.

An edge function reads the country your request comes from — supplied by Netlify’s network, not by any third-party lookup — solely to decide whether to show you a consent banner. Your IP is not stored for this.

Google Analytics 4 runs on every page, but under Google Consent Mode v2. Until you consent, it is forbidden to set cookies or read identifiers; it sends only cookieless, aggregated signals. Once you consent, it sets its usual cookies and measures pages viewed, approximate location, device and referrer. You can withdraw consent at any time from the footer.

If you allow advertising

Some pages carry Google AdSense. The tag loads on page view, but advertising storage is denied until you consent, so it may not store or read anything on your device before then. With consent, Google and its partners may set cookies for ad selection and measurement. Manage this at adssettings.google.com.

If you subscribe to the newsletter

You give an email address. It is stored by Netlify Forms and forwarded to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which sends the emails and records the usual delivery data — opens, clicks, subscription date. Unsubscribe from any email, in one click.

If you buy something

Checkout happens entirely on Dodo Payments’ hosted page. Dodo is the Merchant of Record: they collect your name, email, billing address and payment details, take the payment, handle tax, and issue your invoice. No card details ever reach this site, and we never see or store them.

We receive order records — what was bought, when, and the email needed to deliver the files and provide support. Retained for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

When Dodo sends you back here after checkout, it appends the payment reference, the outcome and your email address to the return address. The thank-you page reads them in order to show you the right message, then immediately strips them out of the address bar — before analytics or advertising sees the page. Your email is never sent to Google, and it is not stored on this site.

If you contact us

Whatever you put in the message. Kept as long as needed to deal with it and any follow-up.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time.
